It was all new. It was as if nothing was there when they found it. A region unknown by a few who had even known it was there. A few scientists had been searching around Mt. Moon when they found some exit of some sort. It looked just like any other entrance to the mountain. But this one seemed different. Different sounds, different noises, even different colors were appearing from the out side area, as if there was a different place out side that door all together. And almost as if by miracle, there was a different place outside the one unseen door all together.
A hidden world, almost.
Lush forests, large mountains, and almost Aztec skis lay ahead of five researchers that came here accidental. A few almost newly rare Pokemon fluttered and walked about, not noticing at all the people that stood on a rocky ledge, gazing in amazement at the new world around them. Everything seemed un touched by man for almost a millennium, as if humans had migrated to the other regions for some odd sort, leaving this one behind. And the scientists, well, they just knew they had to tell. They had to go and tell others about their findings. And it seems that Mt. Moon wasn't the only place to get to this wondrous area, oh no. Many other places, pretty plain to the human eye, in fact, could be used to get to this area, such as the seas and rivers. Even a few bushes hid a few unseen paths awaiting to be discovered.
After many research explorations and mappings of the whole region, humans were finally aloud in to populate this newly charted area. Thousands of people came poring into this new nation that had once been lost. Towns were built, trading markets and docks were stood upon the sea for other regions to drive their ships into this new land. Yes, many people seemed awed about this area, and began settling down to make one region. But of course, that's not all they did. Oh no, they made more things, such as Gyms and a League, and soon created the Aurora League Championships. Many trainers found out, of course, and did come flooding in, many being accepted as the first Gym Leaders of the are. But one thing was lost - name.
It had to be unique and brilliant, Something out of the ordinary, something like no other region. Yeah, sure there was Kanto, Jothto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. But it had to be something that seemed the complete opposite of all those four regions. Yes, it had to be something that sounded like nothing no one had ever thought of. And one little girl, at the age of three, gave everyone a name that each would remember.
Xato
Of course, that's not where it ends. Oh no, it's still beggining.
It happend a few years after people had settled in this new land. Five years, to be exact. Many towns had been fourmed, and a leuage had be created for all trainers. New types of Pokemon had been both found and created. Many people were happy where they were. Content, almost. A few children had been born onto the new land, making them the first generation to be in Xato, which many people thought to be specail at the time. Yes, every human was content at what happend. And so were the Pokemon, for when the humans move, they brought many wild and domestic Pokemon to thrive in this new land. Though many migrated back to their home region, many stayed and populated Xato, while others migrated there. Yes, everything seemed settle now that they had found a new land, a new begging rising around them.
It was a new beggining, alright.
One night, after the whole town fell asleep and a few night Pokemon still fluttered around, one boy began having nightmares. He had explained it later, and it sounded very odd. Firsy, he woke up in some feild. The grass was dead everywhere, and the sky was dark. Several yards away, a dead tree sat over some watering hole. Insinctivly, the boy had gotten up and walked towards the pool, hoping to find some Pokemon that could help him out of this place. He wasn't but a f ew feet away when a dark figure jumped out of nowhere, ambusing him. The boy woke up then, his cry being heard all around town. As he told his parents, many concren towns people had visited, and a few times over he told the story to people. They thought it to be some silly nightmare, so his parents sent him back to bed. He tried to convince him self that it was just another stupied nightmare, something to be forgotten in the morning.
But it wasn't.
Soon, other children began having nightmares of the same, they always got ambused by some kind of creature. It seemed almost Pokemon. And soon, many adults stared having the dream. Most thought it was just because they were afraid of nothing, and that this was just a scare that everyone else was having at night. But that wasn't the worst of it. Oh no, it was getting worser by each dream that passed along.
One night, that same boy that had the first of the dreams disapeared out of no where. His parents were worried sick. They knew he wouldn't run off, and that a Pokemon wouldn't dare take him off with all the humans around. Everyone was confused and scared. And soon enough, more people began disapearing, one by one. No one could seem to find even a little trace of them. There beds would always be cold in the morning, as if they had never gotten in it when they had gone to bed. Nothing else was gone in their room or around the house they lived in but the clothes they had worn that night. They were gone, with only the clothes on their backs and them selves. It's like they vanished. And now everyone knew why everything seemed untouched for a melinium.
This land was haunted, and who ever lived here before were too afraid of what might happen to them. This place was forbidden, and they knew it. Many researchers tooks tests on the dreamers, seeing what was wrong and if they could find this strange Pokemon. Some of the dreams did become clearer, some saying that the Pokemon resembled something of that of a Dusknoir. People were almost awed, and wondered if this was one new speices, or many. No one knew what to do exactly. Would the Pokemon ever show itself to humans? Or would it keep stealing them until every last one was off of it's land? No one knew what they could to stop this madness. But then one day, happend on an accidental fall.
A young girl by the age of six was walking through the woods by herself. Her parents didn't have their Pokemon yet, as they left them behind with relitives for a while when they moved to the new region not too long ago. She was left walking alone, humming as she went. She had already picked a few wild flowers to bring home to her mother to put in a vase, though a shadow crossing her path made her stop instantly. And in that instant, she scream at the top of her lungs. Lucky for her their was a villiage near by, and even nearer were three Trainers chatting as a few of their Pokemon played. When they heard the girl's scream, they turned and ran towards the noise to help, thinking some Houndoom or something had attacked some kid again. But no. What they saw was strange.
The Pokemon resembled that of a Dusknoir, except it's colors were odd. It had two eyes instead of one, and it was much skinnier than a Dusknoi was. The antenna on it's head seemed more of a horn than an anttena, and a few spikes were coming out of it's back. It held the girl up with one hand, and held a scruff of the back of her shirt. All three trainers reconized it as the probabal Pokemon that was causing all of the disapearances. When the trainers arrived, it spooked the Pokemon into dropping the child and fleeing off somewhere.
While one trainer stayed behind to watch the girl and get more help, the others jumped on a Rapidash and a Pidgeotto and fled after the Pokemon. They didn't remember how long it was before they entered a large valley. And to their suprise, many ruins laid around. They looked like old buildings, probably belonging to the people who used to live there before they fled away from their own land. The strange Pokemon had fled somewhere into the ruins, but the trainers stayed a while, exploring. Help did come, along with a few researchers when they heard about where the trainers were. Each were suprised at what they had found, and they kne wthat this was their clue to what this Pokemon was.
One day, while a man was scouring through the caves. He didn't mean to do anything at all, really. He had a few Sableye working around with him, dusting off stuff and examining the arcitecture. Suddenly, he began uncovering somethingwas strange writtings, that of a different launge. More and more of it came upon that wall, almost a whole story. They soon had a whole tale of things on that wall, everyone who saw it was amazed. Scientists were able to decipter almost all of it, some of the words still unknown to man and were guessed when they wrote down the message. It was strange, how the creature had a name. It was also strange at what it was called. No one had a clue that ot would be that obvious. But it was. All they had to do was repeat one name that they knew so dearly, one that they had made up for their home.
