Bunnies, Puppies, & Training

Diamond stood on the edge of the glass ridge, her two latest team members positioned at her feet. Well, more specifically, behind them. Her little Riolu was peeking out from behind her left leg, while Bunneary was doing the same thing from around her right. Her long white jacket blew slightly in the breeze, and she pushed her glasses up on her face, although they were just about clamped onto her nose to keep them from going anywhere. She had a number of pokemon in her Arsenal that she could choose from, but for now she would train the two little ones at her feet, as they were the two she intended to finish her team off with.

Sure, she'd switch out for a gym if she needed to, otherwise she'd stay with her (mostly) battle tested and trained team. "Alright you two, let's get to work," she said, giving them both a slight push so that they were in front of her. She'd found a nice place to test their strength for the moment, she'd work on speed and defense later. The pair looked at the field of glass-like rocks ahead of her, nodding to the pair. If she needed, she'd bring out Magnezone or Shuppet to scare anything off, but for now she wouldn't.

"Buneary, you start. Quick attack up to the rock, and then use Jump Kick," she said, not with her usual tone of voice. The pair were rather skittish, so she had to talk softly to them for now. The Buneary slowly nodded and shot forward, jumping into the air and missing the rock completely, crashing into the cliff base behind it. Not the way I'd hoped to start...[/color] she thought, lifting up the small blue puppy pokemon and running over to wear Buneary was rather dazed.

She picked a pair of Oran berries out of one of her many pockets, placing them in her mouth and she recovered quickly. "Alright, let's try that again. Quick attack to the rock, and jump kick. This time, try to jump closer to the rock," she said. The bunny pokemon nodded again, running at the rock and jumping, this time shattering it to pieces as she made contact.


When she got to her feet she jumped up and down clapped both her paws and her ears. "Good girl," Diamond said, placing a poffin she'd gotten from Sinnoh on the ground for her. She'd found they made good rewards for good behaviour. "Now Riolu, you do something similar. Use quick attack to get a speed boost, and use Force Palm on one." Riolu nodded, running forward and jabbing her palm into the rock, not shattering it, but coming rather close.

Walking amongst the shimmering facets of Glass Pebble Ridge Argent glanced up at the sky, her red eyes narrowing as the sun shone down on her face. She wasn't really fond of sunny days, but she needed to get some training in, and figured that not many people would be at the ridge. Of course, she was wrong. As she walked along she suddenly heard an explosion; small chunks of rock shot through the air and almost pegged her in the head. With a yelp she ducked down, clinging to a nearby outcropping to keep from loosing her balance on the slick surface of the ground. Regaining her stature she stuck her head out from behind one of the many large crystal-looking hunks of glass. She saw a trainer, or maybe a coordinator, she wasn't sure. The woman was older than her and pretty. She had white hair, but her back was turned to Argent so she couldn't see her eyes. The woman's poke'mon looked strong...but a little clumsy. That was okay, maybe she had stronger pokemon in her arsonal. Poke'mon that would provide Argent with a challenge, if she played her cards right.

"Hello there," she called quietly, stepping out into the open. Her face was bright and innocent, and she was smiling as she watched the trainer. "I see you're training your poke'mon. Maybe the best experience they could receive would be a battle? I know my team is itching for a little fun. What do you say?" She waited, hoping her challenge would be accepted.

After a bit, the baby pokemon and the slightly clumsy little Bunneary were getting tired. Trying to keep their traction using quick attack, and then finish it off with a strong attack was difficult. So, she switched to a different tactic. "Bunneary, use pound on the rock," she said, pointing to the nearest one to the little bunny. She knew just how painful the punch was; she'd used it on a pervert that'd been the son of one of her mother's friends.

She nodded hesitantly and started using her long ears to pound on the rock, quickly causing several cracks in the rock. She nodded, and turned to Riolu. "Use Force Palm on that one," she said. Riolu nodded without hesitation. While she was a baby, she desperatly wanted to prove how strong she was. She moved over, and started striking the rock with quick punches, cracking the rock faster than her bunny counterpart.

Diamond heard a sound behind her, and her hand moved down to a strap of velcro hanging off her pants, lingering over Saph's pokeball until she knew what it was. A trainer stepped out from behind a rock, and she moved her hand away. Medicham would have been better in the area, but she'd left her with her mother and younger sister after she was finished traveling in Hoenn. A battle?[/color] she thought. It would be a more effective way to train the pair, but she looked like she was a more experienced trainer, and the pair weren't that strong.

She'd trained them a bit back in Sinnoh, and a small amount in Kanto on her way to Xato... but still, they weren't ready for a real battle yet. Still, she was sure her others were more ready for battle. Xatu and Spinda hadn't seen the outside of their pokeballs for a few days. Magnezone and Saph had, but not very much. "A battle will be an efficient way to train, but not them." Spinda, Magnezone, and Xatu had seen their way across 2 and a half continents. Saph had seen her way across 1 and a half.

"You two may take a rest and watch," she said. Bunneary immediatly stopped and walked over, almost slipping once, and then sat down next to her trainer. She was very curious, and liked to watch. Riolu kept going for another minute before stopping and walking over, managing to avoid slipping. She sat down next to Bunneary preparing to watch the older pokemon battle.

"You may choose first," she said, her hand lingering over the second ball on the line; Spinda's.
