This place seemed nice, really. The air was nice and cool when he entered the waiting room, not many people in sight, really. Had the last person just left before he got there, or was he the first person? It was too quiet for a Pokemon Gym, though he didn't care much. Maybe the Gym Leader was waiting in the battle area. They usually were unless they deicded to come out here and greet the battlers first. His dad always did that for some reason. Though, it seemed much nicer to do it that way than the other way around. It was sometimes weird when the battler entered the room and said they wanted a challange. Well, why else would the person be there unless they wanted to have a freindly chat and go out to lunch or something? Max sighed, shaking his head as the slidding doors closed behind him.
"I swear, Flame," he muttered, looking to the Typhloshin that stepped up next to him, sniffing the air, "they're some things I just don't get."
"Don't get much!" the small bird pirched on his shoulder squaked. "Don't get much! Don't get much!"
"Oh, shut up!" Max said, loud enough to make an echo in the room. "God, you can be so annoying sometimes!"
Elm wanted him to bring the bird - a Chatot, for god's sake - with him when he first entered the region, making him leave Nine behind. So Max couldn't help but want to battle with him. Even though this was Elm's Pokemon - one of his first, actualy - it listened to just about everyone. It could never shut up long enough to hear an order usually, though. Which is why Max gave him the name "Chatter Box." Though he was supprised that the Pokemon's vocal cord's never seemed to get hurt, what with all his squaking and all.....
"Typhloshun!" Flame said suddenly, his head jerking one way, towards two large swinging doors. "Ty, Tyhploshun!"
"Huh?" Max said, looking towards where his partner was staring at.
"Huh?" Chatter mimiced, cocking it's music note of a head.
"Phloshun!" Flame said again, stepping forward towards the doors. Max blinked, confused as he went to follow his Pokemon.
"Okay....," he muttered, pressing one hand on the door. Easily, it opened. "Maybe we'll find something through here," Max mumbled stepping into a large room. Strangely, though, this didn't seem to be the way to the battling arena. Instead, it was like some sort of Green House, with plenty of plants around, some actualy in the ground rather than pots. But no one was helping him out much, so Max felt on his own here. "Hello?!" he called, stepping forward, letting the door slowly close by it self. Flame once more had his nose in the air sniffing. "Hello?! Anyone here?" Max called again, taking another step forward.
Would he ever get his first Gym Badge?
