When You Were Young

[Ramen[The Pirate]]

The town was completely at ease,nothing was daunting or loud about it. It wasn't like Tabatha hated loud noises or anything. She grew up in Cerulean city,you either liked loud noises or you moved. Most people chose to put up with it.You can't really ignore the pull there. You can't ignore the pull for Rann Town either. Tabatha always found it funny when she heard people say Rann Town.It was just a funny name to her,I suppose.

She pulled out a small blanket from the messenger bag on her shoulder.Smear looked at her with sleepy eyes and she couldn't help but smile. He was her baby,why wouldn't she find him adorable? She set the blanket down and let Smear rest on that. She pulled out a easel and some painting utensils before setting it all up. Her orange dress swayed in the wind.It was a bit cold,so Tabatha was quite happy that she decided to put on some stockings as well.

She sighed happily before letting all of her other pokemon out. Eve simply looked around before hitting Crane with her tail lightly so that they started a game of tag.They made sure to keep around their trainer,knowing she'd be worried sick like the last time they pulled that prank on her. Sable stood next to Tabatha and watched her curiously.Pixie and her zangoose sat next to smear and made sure to keep their eyes trained on the two pokemon running around whilst talking to one another. a big happy family you would say.

[Raina]

"Pichu!" Raina called. "piiichuuuu! Where are you?" she huffed. Her pichu had run off again. Raina placed her hands on her hips and blew a strand of blonde hair out of her eyes. Though she was the Gym Leader of Rann town and used grass pokemon, Pichu had been the acception. Pichu was Raina's first pokemon and was like her baby. She almost never used her in battle, but sometimes the lottle mouse would run off during training.

"Le." Leafeon sniffed the gound then looked up at Raina.

"Do you smell her?"

"Le Le!" Leafeon ran through the trees. Raina could smell water and realized she was by the River. It made Raina worry. Pichu couldn't swim! and she was an electric type, Raina ran to the river. "Pichuuu!" She made her way out of the trees and saw the river. It was beautiful. She then noticed a girl sitting with her pokemon.

"Excuse me, have you seen a Pichu?" Raina asked.

[Kçℵ]

It was pretty quiet and almost lonesome walking up the river. She didn't know where she was goin, but Ceira knew she was close to something important. She had seen a few buildings to a city through the trees of the forest, and as they cleared up, she could see more and of more of this place. What did Pidgeot say this place was called now? Rann Town or something? She couldn't know exactly. An almost smaller than usualy Combusken walked along with the brunette haired girl, his head teetering slightly as he waved his arms humming a tune. There was a flash nearby, and the girl could help but giggle.

"Having fun, Crescent?" she asked loud, as if something would answer. And in fact, something did.

"Cresselia!" something said, a figure slowling to a stop a few feet from where it's trainer was walking.

"Thought you would be," Ceira giggled. And then she smirked. Man, she never knew something like this could be so fun and exciting! She was glad her mother told her about this new region. Well, not exactly new. But it was fun. Would she meet any new Pokemon? Make any new friends? Man, there was so much to do here i-

"Cressa!" her Phsycic type gave a cry lurching forward as a yellow flash leapt on it's back.

"Combusken!" the fire type cried as Ceira jumped. Withing in instant, the yellow flash was gone in the bushes. Ceira was almost shaking as Crescent looked around werily, shaking her self.

"Alright, Crescent," Ceira tried to say calmly, though her voice was still shaking as she grabbed a Pokeball from her belt. "Let's put you back now," With a red flash and some sort of cry, the Pokemon disapeared. Ceira gave a sigh as she put the ball back on her belt. "What was that?" Ceira questioned quietly, looking around to see if anything else was to jump out of nowhere. And then she heard it: voices.

"Combusken?" her partner questioned, turning to where the noise was coming from.

"Hm?" Ceira said, turning, too. She thought she heard someone hollar for a Pichu, but she couldn't be sure. And then she got an idea. "C'mon, Slash," she said to her Combusken, walking forward quickly with her arms at her side, "let's go."

"Com," the Pokemon nodded, following the girl quickly to where ever they were going.

Many people wondered what she was doing alone,walking along the riverside. Once upon a time Tabby traveled with another girl. Oddly enough,they were like sisters. Not as close as Tabatha and Luke would ever be,but still pretty close. They went their separate ways when Tabatha decided to become a full-time trainer instead of a co-ordinator and a trainer. So they were traveling together up until two months ago.

Her head quickly shot around when she heard Zangoose let out a small growl.He was a bit territorial,making him a father figure in a way. She didn't really think anything of it and let her head go back to the figure she was now painting.She had been to this town already. She already had this town's badge and the next town's over badge. She had drawn this picture the last time she was here,promising to paint it next time. She was fulfilling that promise now.

She didn't look up until Sable pulled on the hem of her dress. She looked the way it was pointing and saw the gym leader Raina.She looked as if she had asked a question. Tabatha stared at her blankly,a small blush overcoming her features. She hoped Raina didn't think she was rude. At least she probably didn't remember Tabatha. "I'm sorry,I didn't hear your question" she stated with her head looking to the side.

Her eyes noticed Ninetails wandering off with her Zangoose and Sable watching with small intrest. Pixie was simply following the trail that the eevee and Cranidos her trainer owned had left. Pixie didn't hate them,but felt slightly annoyed with the routines she had to go through every time those two played with each other.The pokemon came upon an interesting sight.The two seemed to have calmed down long enough to speak with a Pichu.Pixie let her presence be known before looking around. Her eyes spotted a Combusken from the shape of it and another girl walking towards the spot where Tabatha was. She didn't really think anything of it. Zangoose would alert their trainer if the duo was dangerous.She just had to make sure these three didn't go crazy.

[Raina]

Raina was about to ask her question again when she heard the mouse chatting with the trainer's pokemon. She sighed and shook her head.

"Never mind." she started to turn away when she stopped and looked the girl over. "heeey aren't you Tabatha Hunter? I remeber you! You should have my badge if I am correct." Raina smiled as she picked her pichu up. Pichu let out a squeek of protest. "You and I waill talk later." she scolded. Pichu pouted and hung loosely from Raina's arms.

"Le." Leafeon pointed out the other girl that had appeared.

"It's alright." she smiled at her.

[Kçℵ]

"Uh, hello?" she Ceira said aloud, stepping into the clearing where she heard the voices. A few Pokemon ran around like they were having fun being outside on this nice day. Well, who wouldn't be? Nice days were always great if you wanted to go out and have fun. And Ceira knew that persoanlly.

"Com?" Slash said aloud, looking around. For a minute, Ceira thought she heard him growl. And then he moved closer, sort of grabbing a hold of one of her arms. "Combusken," he grumbled, looking around wearily. Ceira chuckled at that.

Always as protective as ever, I see Ceira thought. Slowly, she stepped forward to meet the other humans.

"C'mon," she said to Slash, sort of ripping away from his grip as she steped forward to go towards the other two girls.

"Com?" Slash asked, standing there for a minute. Then he relized that he was beign left behind. "Combusken!" he said a little loudly, quickly sprinting into a run to catch up to his trainer.

"Um, hello," Ceira tried to say a bit sweetly to the two girls as she stood practicaly in the middle of them, looking a bit confused. Slash caught up to her, panting slightly.

It had been a gripping battle of wits when Tabatha had her gym battle against Raina. Well actually,it wasn't. Along with Smear came a note of advice from her Tabatha's brother.That note lay in her backpack to this day.It was the most recent thing she had from Jacob. It only said to level up Smear and whatever other pokemon I caught as high as I could before challenging Raina. She did just that and that's why she actually stood a chance against the gym leader.

She didn't challenge her only days after getting the pokemon.She waited about a month. Within that time she caught Pixie and Sable.Of course having a fire-type was a good asset. She did pretty well for a beginner I suppose. Tabatha remembered talking to Raina a little bit after the fight,but didn't think she'd remember.Would you be able to remember every single person who challenged you?

Tabatha watched as a pichu ran and jumped into her arms. She remembered being surprised by the fact that the grass-type leader had an electric-type. She realized that Raina's earlier question probably had to do with the pichu. She was glad nothing happened to it at least.She let out a small sound of surprise when Raina said her name. It sounded like a squeal and a scream.At least nobody propably heard it. Well except for her Zangoose who was currently chuckling at the sight of her. He found anything that embarrassed her to be funny.

She was just about too answer when another girl walked in. She looked rather pretty and the combusken next to her seemed quite protective of her. She couldn't help but let her mind wander to the white cat-like pokemon that eyed the newcomers warily."Hello to you too. I'm Tabatha." she told the girl. She turned her head slightly too see her eevee and cranidos jump around her ninetails like a pack of 6-year old in ToysRus. She chuckled before turning to the girl a little ways away from her. "I didn't actually think you'd remember me,although it hasn't been that long I think.About 2 1/2 months I think" Tabatha told the blonde,thinking about the time length.It seemed rather long ago to her I guess.

[Raina]

Raina turned to see the new girl named Ceira. She was really pretty. Possibly new around her. Raina hadn't fought her yet, so maybe she was. "Hi there! I'm Raina Heartnet. Gym Leader of Rann town." She felt Pichu wiggle in her arms. "Oh you stop that or you are going in your pokeball!" Pichu huffed and went limp again. She hated her pokeball.

Raina sat down on a fallen log, setting Pichu next to her. "Yes It has been a small while hasn't it." Raina chuckled. "But I do remember you. I remember all trainers that battle me." She turned to Ceira. "But I don't think he have battled for a badge have we?" Raina asked.

[Kçℵ]

She smirked slightly as she lsitened to the two girls talk, nodding to the girl named Raina when she spoke to her. "And my name's Ceira," she said to her, and the otehr girl partly. "Ceira Lawford. And this is Slash." Her Pokemon at her side nodded before turning to look at the other Pokemon, though he only watched them partly.

Tabatha couldn't help but laugh at the small pichu in Raina's hands. It was rather fiesty wasn't it? The Pichu and her own smeargle had a....interesting battle. She couldn't think about it without laughing for some reason. As she had now learned,her pokemon was very clever and loved to just have fun during a battle.It was hard to get him to do things her way at first.He wouldn't stop doing combinations that made other trainers laugh at her.

She watched as all her pokemon settled down on the blanket and eyed the others warily. She shook her head. At first glance her pokemon were really reserved and wouldn't play with others. The trio would be the first to show their outgoing nature once the 'family' figured out if the pokemon was alright. Sable would follow after a small amount of time while Ninetails and Zangoose only went over when the pokemon showed signs of quiet and humble charm.

"That's amazing. I'm not too good with remembering people's names.I'm great at remembering faces though.Nice to meet you Ceira and Slash"Tabatha stated,resisting the urge to add a corny pick-up line. she being a girl knew it would freak Ceira and Raina out plus they probably never had to deal with bisexual people.If she even was one. She was confused on that particular subject still. Her brother never had this problem it seemed.

[Raina]

Raina watched as Tabatha's pokemon rested. They were so calm. Unlike hers (Pichu) that ran around, wearing Raina out. But normaly the rest of Raina's pokemon were quiet and well behaved. The totaly opposite of Pichu. Maybe Pichu justs needs to evolve. But She couldn't unless she and Raina were complete friends. At this rate, Pichu would never evolve.

Raina thought of her brother, Ryan, and his Pichu that had evolved very quickly. It was now a Raichu. Ryan had always benn great woth pokemon though...just not with the ladies. When he tried to be smooth, he would end up making a fool of himself. Typicle Ryan.

Raina snapped back to attention, She had been zoning out slightly. "Yes, Nice to meet you guys!" Raina said with a smile.

She smiled at the few hellos that were given to her. Slash watched silenty as the other Pokemon rested. He really hadn'y seen so many Pokemon in one place, though he was still a bit nervous.

"Nice to meet you guys, too," Ceira said kindly, though neither of them had introduced them selves. Without hesitation, Ceira grabbed three Pokeballs from her leather belt that kept her jeam kakis up, enlargining them quickly. "I hope you guys don't mind," she said, geturing the Pokeballs, "but my friends havn't been out since yesterday."

She didn't wait for ananswer before three lights went up, letting loose three different Pokemon: a Pidgeot, Feraligator, and Machoke. Slash imdently turned and gave a call, rushing over towards his three friends. Jaws, the Feraligaor, though, wandered off slightly, seeing the other Pokemon that slept near the girl. Champion, the Machoke, looked wearily at the two girls before saying something in Pokemon lanuge to Pidgeot and Slash.

It had been a while since she really and truly talked too someone. She was used to small chats with the people who were nice enough to get a painting from her. Some had even become her friends. That was every once in a while though. Even if she was slightly well known,people weren't that interested in art it seemed. It seemed like the two girls near her were interesting enough. Maybe Tabatha would earn some new acquaintances at the most.

That is,if they got a conversation going. Sure they had introduced themselves.That didn't mean they liked each other. Tabatha had seen many people who simply talked with others and then badmouthed hours later even if thy had met for the first time."I'm fine with it.I bet those three would probably want someone new to play with when they wake up" Tabatha explained with a grin while pointing at the smeargle,cranidos,and eevee. The three musketeers I tell you.

The three pokemon that were still awake and enjoying the beautiful sight of the river turned to at the sight of slight movement that seemed to be heading in their direction. Sable eyed the newcomer curiously. She wasn't sure whether she should introduce herself or not. She normally let the three who were sleeping talk first and then start a conversation after they got bored. She was shy alright. She simply sat there. If the feraligator came over,she would talk. Problem solved it seemed.

Tabatha let the silence sink in a little before setting her utensils down for a second.She didn't want the two to get bored that quickly though. "So,anything interesting happening in the next few days for you guys" Tabatha asked. And then she had to mentally hit herself. That was such a personal question to ask. Maybe it was just the fact that she was bored and wanted to have something to talk about

[Raina]

Raina sighed. "The only thing interestiing is that this one keeps being a brat." Raina said, thumbing in the direction of Pichu. Pichu turned her back with a "Pi." and crossed her arms. "buuut it's alright cuz I get help fro my other pokemon to find her. In fact, Ill let them out too." Raina took five pokeballs off of her belt and they popped open. A Bulbasuar, Meganium, Leafeon, Celebi, and Shaymin appeard and gave a little hello in their pokemon language.

Raina watched as Pichu's ears perked up and she ran to Meganium, jumping onto it's back, smiling. Celebi flew around everyone's heads then dove into the river for a swim. Shaymin yawned and layed down as well as Bulbasuar. Leafeon hopped up on the tree trunk that Raina sat on and flicked it's tail happily with a "Leee!" then layed down on Raina's Lap.

"Aw, cute," Ceira mumbled as she watched the Shaymin and the Bulbasaur sleep.

Jaws had wearily went over to the nodded off Pokemon, though he could've sworn one of them was awake. Pidgeot had walked over to the water to see where the small Grass and Phsycic Type went, while Champion had decided to waltz over and say hi to the Meganium and Pichu. Slash, on the other hand, wanted to stay with it's trainer.
